Public school teachers of the Municipality of Panglao who are tenured, receive certificates of appreciation for the services they have been rendering by educating learners of the town. The ceremonial awarding, which is also known as milestone awards or years of service awards, happened the entire day today at Henann Convention Center, Paglao, with Hon. Amira Alia “Aya” Montero-Caindec, Panglao Councilor, as the keynote speaker representing Hon. Leonila P. Montero, Panglao Mayor. In her speech, Hon. Montero-Caindec acknowledged the teachers as the second parents of our children. They are the modern heroes for instilling wisdom and knowledge to all learners during their formative years to become responsible men and women in the future in our society. The young councilor likened the students’ minds to a “TABULA RASA” or white blanket of which all the educators are teaching will be painted in the children’s intellects. The service awardees were all given special recognition by giving them certificates of appreciation and medals while donning with their formal attires. With the theme “SALUDO 2020,” Councilor Montero-Caindec further articulated that the Special Educational Fund amounting roughly to 13 Million Pesos has been approved already by Panglao’s School Board. Dr. Cesaria Yecyec, Panglao’s Schools District Supervisor, also delivered her inspirational speech to the awardees and well-wishers.
