A Blessed and Grateful Celebration to all Panglaoanon People for the Feast of Sr. Santo Niño de Panglao.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Santo Niño de Panglao our town’s second patron saint is getting ready for the Caravan and fluvial procession and “Sinulog sa Panglao 2023” held Yesterday 23 of January 2023 and last Saturday 22 of January 2023. Even if Rain or Shine the Panglaoanon people did not stop to celebrate to honored and grateful to Sr. Santo Niño de Panglao for the grace received.

The Feast of Santo Niño de Panglao is on every fourth Sunday of the month of January. The following Sunday is the Feast of Senior Santo Niño de Cebu.

MARINA VII just opened its PANGLAO EXTENSION OFFICE located at the Old Municipal Building Poblacion, Panglao, Bohol after the successful Grand Opening and Blessing Ceremony!

It is an honor for Panglao to be visited by so many provinces and municipalities. One of these municipalities is from Talibon, Bohol, where on November 10, 2022, LGU-Panglao, led by our tireless Mayor Hon. Edgardo F. Arcay is overjoyed to welcome the Talibon Local Government Unit with great privilege and honor for selecting Panglao for their yearly benchmarking. They are joined by the heads of their respective municipal departments and Sangguniang Bayan members.

Mr. Leonides E. Senica, the Panglao Municipal Tourism Officer, extensively shared with them how the municipality handled the tourism industry and the services that we provided to our visitors.

Public school teachers of the Municipality of Panglao who are tenured, receive certificates of appreciation for the services they have been rendering by educating learners of the town. The ceremonial awarding, which is also known as milestone awards or years of service awards, happened the entire day today at Henann Convention Center, Paglao, with Hon. Amira Alia “Aya” Montero-Caindec, Panglao Councilor, as the keynote speaker representing Hon. Leonila P. Montero, Panglao Mayor. In her speech, Hon. Montero-Caindec acknowledged the teachers as the second parents of our children. They are the modern heroes for instilling wisdom and knowledge to all learners during their formative years to become responsible men and women in the future in our society. The young councilor likened the students’ minds to a “TABULA RASA” or white blanket of which all the educators are teaching will be painted in the children’s intellects. The service awardees were all given special recognition by giving them certificates of appreciation and medals while donning with their formal attires. With the theme “SALUDO 2020,” Councilor Montero-Caindec further articulated that the Special Educational Fund amounting roughly to 13 Million Pesos has been approved already by Panglao’s School Board. Dr. Cesaria Yecyec, Panglao’s Schools District Supervisor, also delivered her inspirational speech to the awardees and well-wishers. Panglao enjoined in the nationwide celebration of the 119th Independence Day.

This event was headed by our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Leonila P. Montero together with the Municipal Councilors, Heads of Offices, Brgy. Captains, School Principals & Teachers, LGU Employees, Members of the Rotary Club & Rotaract Club of Panglao, Philippine Army, PNP Panglao, Bohol Tourist Police Unit, Bureau of Fire Protection, Panglao Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Religious Organizations.

Local talents like the Lumad Panglaoanon Cultural Ensemble and the Panglaoanon Performing Arts Ensemble have rendered dance presentations which resemble heroism, nationalism and patriotism.
