A festival is a special day, event or period typically celebrated by a community which mainly focused on some characteristics or aspects of that community in memoriam of its religion or customs and traditions. It is often marked as a local or national holiday that is observed with series of activities, entertainment and gaiety. Panglao never missed to own spectacular festivals to stage annually namely Sinulog sa Panglao and Hudyaka sa Panglao that fall every January and August respectively. As festivals, what is common to the two is that both are celebrations of the feast of the patron saint of the municipality, hence, a manifestation of religiosity of all Panglaoanons thru an established cultural identity that are both staged filled with festive, color, tradition and merrymaking as an expression of thankgiving.
